Mothers Day with Mommy Away

My mom passed away December 6, 2009. Mrs Johnita Adelaide Flemington Steinhilber suffered a bad fall in April broke her shoulder and never recovered. This is the first Mothers Day since she’s been gone. I miss her more every day. She gave me my life (along with my dad, of course!), much of my sense of humour, art skills, moral and intellectual compass, musical taste, language skills, fixed my meals, made my clothes brought me to school, brought me home, served me orange juice, got mad but tolerated my drowning my grits with Worcester sauce, attended Yale when women weren’t allowed, flew airplanes, practiced law, continued her education well past retirement age, worried about us, and I could go on forever. I miss you Mommy, Daddy misses you even more if I know anything, Mica misses you and everybody who knew you misses you. I love you. We love you.
